Job Description

We’re looking for energetic data and technology polyglots that enjoy challenging problems and value the opportunity to work with industry experts and push themselves to new heights.  This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground-floor of a rapidly growing international startup. You will work with our data scientists and platform engineers to acquire and prepare data for use in data science and BI applications. 

Our stack includes customer embedded javascript, Java and Python APIs and data processing services and pipelines deployed on Amazon Web Services. Data science services use R and Python code and notebooks.

• Work with the Product, Engineering and Data Science teams to design, develop, and test data pipelines that feed our Data Science models.
• With Data Science, evolve our Analytics processing and BI schemas to improve analytics reporting and insight
• Provide feature development and bug resolution for data pipelines
• Develop approaches to validate data quality and transform datasets in preparation for predictive modeling
• Evaluate and test new technologies to enhance ForMotiv’s offerings
• Provide performance and reliability testing

• 4 year computer science or related degree 
• 7+ years as data-focused software developer at a reputable company with references
• Strong database design and ETL experience with cloud-based systems
• Strong mathematics and problem-solving skills
• Very strong experience working with analytics schemas and large data storage solutions such as Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Redshift, Snowflake or similar
• Strong experience with data modeling and schema generation
• Experience working with BI and reporting visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, QuickSight or similar (not required, but strong plus)
• Python, Java, R and deep SQL experience with data-intensive applications
• Machine Learning or Data Science experience (not required but a strong plus)

• MongoDB or other NoSQL experience (not required but a plus)

• Self-motivated, proactive, organized and a willingness to learn (and be taught)
• You’re comfortable in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
• Eagerness to wear multiple hats and lend a hand to your teammates when called upon
