ForMotiv’s 1st party behavioral data and intent solution is the first of its kind and allows Insurance carriers to understand their digital users as if they were sitting right in front of them. We do this by analyzing users’ digital body language collected while they engage with web applications to classify and predict their intent, in real-time. Our Behavioral Data Science platform collects thousands of behavioral micro-expressions, such as keystrokes, typing speed, mouse movements, hesitation, and hundreds of other behavioral cues to predict intent such as confusion, frustration or the likelihood of a user to abandon, convert, be high-risk, and more

Job Description

We’re looking for someone to join our data science team as a data scientist. We’re a startup (albeit 5 years old) and this is a hands-on position that bridges the data science and account management teams. We’re actively creating turnkey behavioral data science products, and looking for a data scientist to drive development of customer products and uncover trends in customer data. This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground-floor of a rapidly growing international startup. As our data scientist, you will report to the CDO and work directly with the data science and account management teams.

Our tech stack runs entirely within AWS (and AWS Data experience is required), and leverages serverless, container-based facilities to create a highly performant and highly reliable service-based architecture.

• Listen to customer requirements and internal requests, query various data sources, mine data for insights, package and present results in a way that makes a recommendation or provides value for a customer
• Support the creation and maintenance of models in our predictive analytics ecosystem
• Assist senior data scientists and engineers in automating the movement and processing of data in a real-time and batch Machine Learning environment.
• Work with our Account Management team to standardize and productize valuable customer solutions

• 4 year computer science or related degree (highly recommended, but may be waived with relevant experience)
• 2+ years of experience in data analytics or data science working primarily with cloud technologies at a reputable company with references
• Strong mathematics and problem-solving skills
• Comfort communicating and presenting results to stakeholders and customers
• 2+ years experience using Python; experience using tools such as Jupyter Notebooks, Airflow, Spark, Hadoop/EMR, Sagemaker, S3, Glue, etc. a plus
• 2+ years experience using SQL to analyze and combine data across a variety of sources
• Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau preferred), data structures and general data visualization.
• Expertise in interacting with multiple data storage types and products, such as S3,Postgres, Mariadb, Redshift, Snowflake, HDFS, etc.
• Familiarity with MLops concerns, including monitoring and alerting tools such as datadog,Logstash, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana and similar is a plus.
• Self-motivated, proactive, organized and a willingness to learn (and be taught)
• You’re comfortable in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
• Eagerness to wear multiple hats and lend a hand to your teammates when called upon
