The role:

As a Consulting Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between data science and account management. You’ll drive customer product development and assist them in uncovering our data’s value. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing international startup, reporting to the Chief Data Office (CDO) and collaborating closely with our teams.

Our tech stack operates entirely within AWS, and leverages serverless, container-based facilities to create a highly performant and highly reliable service-based architecture.

• Create or refine customer deliverables, ensuring deliverables are consistent across customers, relevant and easily understood
• Work directly with customers to understand their pain points and opportunities; translating their requests into must have requirements as well as potential areas of opportunity
• Collaborate with our Account Management team to brainstorm and productize valuable customer solutions
• Lead or contribute to the automation of backend data science processes

• 4 year computer science, engineering, math, statistics or related degree (highly recommended, but may be waived with relevant experience)
• 2+ years of experience in the insurance industry, either client side or insurtech
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics or data science working primarily with cloud technologies at a reputable company with references
• AWS data experience
• Comfort communicating and presenting results to stakeholders and customers; direct consulting experience greatly preferred
• Strong mathematics and problem-solving skills
• 5+ years experience using Python; experience using tools such as Jupyter Notebooks, Airflow, Spark, Hadoop/EMR, Sagemaker, S3, Glue, etc. a plus
• 5+ years experience using SQL to analyze and combine data across a variety of sources
• Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau preferred), data structures, and general data visualization
• Expertise in interacting with multiple data storage types and products, such as S3, Postgres, Mariadb, Redshift, Snowflake, HDFS, etc.
• Familiarity with MLops concerns, including monitoring and alerting tools such as datadog, Logstash, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana and similar is a plus
• Self-motivated, proactive, organized and a willingness to learn (and be taught)
• You’re comfortable in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
• Eagerness to wear multiple hats and lend a hand to your teammates when called upon
